On Thursday the 13th of February 1917 the battalion left Moacsar in full marching order. On the 5th of February camels were issued for the first time as their military transport; these were handed back on the 16th February. They reached their final destination on the 26th of February after covering 145 miles of desert in 5 days of marching travelling over barren country in high tempratures.
